At Fashnet Calcutta, we don’t just create sarees—we weave boldness, sensuality, and elegance into every thread. Our linen sarees—including our bestselling cotton by linen,  and pure zari woven pieces—are designed for confident women who flaunt their curves with pride and grace. And to keep these exquisite pieces as gorgeous as the first drape, proper care is key.

Here’s your complete, professional, and easy-to-follow linen saree washcare guide—crafted especially for you.

Can Linen Sarees Be Handwashed?

Yes! You can handwash your linen and cotton by linen sarees at home with confidence—just follow these essential steps:

Gentle Handwash Instructions:

  • Always use soft water, add a softener to your regular tap water. If unavailable, add a mild fabric softener.
  • Use a gentle, bleach-free detergent
  • Do not soak the saree for long. Just dip, swirl, and rinse.
  • Do not wring, twist, or scrub the fabric.
  • Line dry in shade. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading or weakening of fabric.

Note: Avoid machine wash or tumble drying. These may shrink or damage the saree’s weave.

Special Care for Linen Sarees with Zari

Our zari sarees are made with pure zari that lends divine shimmer. These require extra care:

  • Dry cleaning is always recommended for zari sarees.
  • If handwashing, do it gently. Use soft water and never rub or wring the zari portion.
  • It is not advisable to frequently handwash premium sarees, especially those which have heavy use of zari.

How to Iron Linen Sarees (Including Zari Sarees)

  • For regular linen: Use your iron’s “linen” mode.
  • For zari sarees:
    • Use a steam iron, or
    • Place a clean white cotton cloth on top and use very low heat.

  • Never iron directly on zari, sequins, or embellishments.

Perfume & Linen – A Gentle Reminder

Do not spray perfume or deodorant directly on linen sarees. Chemicals may stain or degrade delicate fibres or zari over time.

Safety Pin Usage Tip

Linen is delicate. To avoid tears or holes:

  • Use a small paper square, bindi sticker, or double-sided tape under the pin.

Storing Linen Sarees the Right Way

  • Change folds every 6–12 months to prevent creases.
  • Roll sarees instead of book-folding to retain fall.
  • Use paper bags or breathable cotton cloths for storage.
  • Air out sarees occasionally under soft winter sun.
  • Avoid naphthalene balls—use natural repellents like neem leaves or lavender.

Our Sarees Age Like Fine Wine

Every time you wear a Fashnet Calcutta saree, it becomes softer, lighter, and more graceful. That’s the magic of real linen—it evolves with you.

These sarees are not just garments. They’re heirlooms in the making.

Quick Linen Saree Don’ts:

  • No machine wash or tumble dry
  • No harsh detergents or bleach
